Vice President, Client Marketing, Consumer Checking

Background

Truist Bank is the product of a merger between heritage banks SunTrust Bank, Inc. out of Atlanta, GA and BB&T out of Winston-Salem, North Carolina. I was originally employed by SunTrust.

SunTrust and BB&T legally merged in December 2019, but did not adopt the new Truist brand until October 2021. In between those two milestones, I was tasked with leading checking acquisition for both heritage banks, which included separate campaigns, budgets and campaign reporting, as well as leading a brand conversion and new product launches for Truist.

Highlights of my role as VP, Client Marketing

  • Led marketing initiatives for Consumer Checking with an annual budget of $20 million, the largest budget of all lines of business within the marketing organization.

    • Acquired more than 100K new-to-bank checking accounts each year, generating annual revenue of more than $25 million

  • Managed three product launches from research to execution and one brand conversion

  • Developed a reporting template to circulate to senior executives that was adopted by the entire marketing organization

  • Partnered with major organizations, including Delta, TurboTax, Atlanta Falcons, and Atlanta Braves to cross-promote products and brands
